It looks like a test for a new “lead form” option, which would help you gather user details and generate direct responses on the platform.
Instagram is testing lead forms as an action button on business/creator profiles. This could be used for multiple things. It allows 3 custom questions along with options for 4 pre-existing information points.

Until now, Instagram has offered three action buttons for profiles:
- Order food.
- Book now.
- Reserve.
This fourth button would allow you to add a lead form with up to three personalized questions. Very interesting…
When it’s available
Nobody really knows. Instagram didn’t specify whether this is a test or not, and the lead form button hasn’t made Instagram’s official list of action buttons just yet.
But more and more users are reporting they’re seeing the option – so check out your action button options to see if it’s already there.
Why we care
If Instagram rolls this button out to all users, it would give brands and businesses a way to collect first party data like names, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. from potential customers.
That would help you gather and repurpose some of your user data instead of relying solely on Instagram’s ad algorithm.
It would also help you learn more about how your customers perceive your business by asking them specific questions or segment them based on their answers.
Here’s hoping Instagram makes this new lead form button a thing.
