You probably know by now that testing different offers will help you increase your conversions—and your ROAS.
What many people forget is that you can also move the needle by playing with your shipping offer.
Sure, free shipping is great. But maybe a flat-fee shipping rate would increase your average order value.
You’ll never know until you test.
Here are a few different shipping offers your brand can try to improve those margins:
- Flat-fee shipping. If you can’t offer free shipping, try using a flat-fee shipping cost, and make sure customers know about it. If your customer has to pay $5 for shipping no matter how much they buy, then buying multiple products will feel like they’re saving money. And who doesn’t love a bargain?
- Receive by date. This is great for holidays or special occasions. If you can promise that Valentine’s Day gifts will arrive before the big day, then your customers will have more confidence and trust in buying from you. It’s a win-win.
- Free expedited shipping. This is similar to the “receive by” shipping, but with different positioning. Everyone loves expedited shipping; nobody likes paying for it. If you offer it for free, they’ll be more excited to buy from you.
Just remember, the only thing that can destroy a shopper’s high is an order that takes forever to deliver.
If you’re making promises about shipping times, make sure you can actually deliver on them.
